The Micro Macro Monde WORLDBY project

The Worldby project is about making us all dream about “the new world”. Worldby is a concept of a new city or living structure as I prefer to call it, where every thing is in balance with nature, a sustainable living habitat. It is an experiment for finding new sustainable life styles. Its also a new kind “living quarters” for what I call “CONSCIOUS HOLISTIC HEDONISTS” - and therefore as such part of the MICRO MACRO MONDE project. And please read more about the MMM project by clicking here.

We are in the process of having to redesign our world and we all want better living conditions so we have to find innovative ways of doing this. We need to protect nature but we need more space to live also. We cannot continue to munch all available free pieces of land. With global warming we will get even less landmass so therefore we need to us our creative skills and develop new concepts for how to live in structures we build on top of nature – or maybe floats on water. In Worldby, nature is given equal opportunities and space to thrive, since we would not be here, if nature is not here. In Worldby humans and nature seriously work together - they are not separate entities as we see most of the time in todays world.

Micro housing is a new possibility of giving us all better and more efficient living habitat. Using less space to live reduces not only built space but also energy and material consumptions. By using renewable resources and sharing resources at communal level, we can save a lot. Worldby is about a world where everything is a resource – waste is a forgotten word and everything cycles around forever. Worldby is a world where its understood and accepted that everything is eternal. Everything comes from the planet – everything eventually goes back one way or another. The WORLDBY IMAGES were being exhibited the EEA (European Environmental Agency) in Copenhagen, Denmark in March 2011. It was the third time WORLDBY project was shown to the public. The last one was at the prestigious ARS Electronica Festival in Austria in October 2010 and before that in the Emirates at the Sharjah Museum of Art, where I presented my visions as part of an exhibition organized by The Danish art group called Nomad Academy.

Im not just drawing dreamlike images of how we could live in the future, Im also trying to “walk the talk” creating a place I calls Micro Macro Monde (see more at www.micromacromonde.com) at an old watermill on 7,5 hectares of land close to Paris, France. Here Im implementing some of the ideas being introduced in the WORLDBY exhibition.

And as an experiment I tried to include the public in a kind of co-creation process during the exhibition in Sharjah. You can see the results here.
